Financial Services Reform Bill

financial services reform bill
Why, Kerry, Obama and Clinton, Dodd fight against the federal government in the investigation of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae?

The http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/11/AR2008091102841.html administration did not accept half. In 2005, Republican Mike Oxley, then chairman of the Financial Services Committee, initiated a lobbying reform (HR 1461), and Fannie and Freddie set out to weaken it. The bill has been without teeth when the calling card Oxley the night before markup and promised to oppose it. Oxley pulled the bill instead. During this period, Sen. Richard Shelby led a small group of legislators in favor of reform, including fellow Republican John Sununu Sens Chuck Hagel and Elizabeth Dole. Meanwhile, Dodd – who, with Democratic Sens John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the top four recipients Fannie and Freddie campaign contributions from 1988 to 2008 – has actively opposed such measures and further weakened existing regulation.

Because that these people know that nobody will hold them accountable for their decisions 2, 5, 10 years later. Just look at the shit and Ted Kennedy still gets elected. Could take a dump on the Capitol steps by pulling the loops and the state of Massachusetts elected him again.
